Flux, Interwoven Ecosystem was made for a group exhibition at spudWORKS in Hampshire which ran for two weeks. In this work forms constructed from recycled textiles are colonised and transformed by Pink Oyster fungi. In this work, forms constructed from recycled textiles are colonised and transformed by Pink Oyster fungi. These pair and bond with unfired clay, their boundaries fluid. Fine particles formed by water pressure. Their forms, a reference to spaces left by a human body. Presence expressed through absence. Mycelial networks inhabit stitched textile forms. Branch structures bound, knotted by human hands. Fungi and clay in a state of flux. Transient. Temporary. Hybrid, more than human beings that tell a tale of ecological and deep time.
